vRealize Operations Manager 6 – Initial Configuration

In the previous blog post I left you at the Getting Started vRealize Operations Manager screen.

In this blog post I will be going through both the Express and New Installations, continue reading for more information.

Express Installation

Choosing the Express Installation routine first you can see that it really is fast, you have three screens to go through.

Click Next

Enter your password and click Next

Click Finish

Eventually it will present you with the log in screen.

New Installation

Click Next

Enter your password and click Next

If you’re running you’re own CA then you would have prepared a new cert for your vROPS instance, in my case I went with the default certificates.

Click Next

Choose your Master Node Name and add your NTP Servers (these could be internal or external, please note that it does check that they are reachable).

Click Next

Click Finish

Next it will configure the first node in the cluster.

Click Start vRealize Operations Manager

You will get this message, click Yes

It will go through the process of starting the components

image

Once it has started the node it will present you with the log in screen.

In the next blog post I will go through the vCenter configuration to let you start using vROPS 6.
